Melba Big Band at Northcote Secondary College

This month Melba will be visiting Northcote High School and performing at their annual Jazz night on Thursday August 23rd.

Northcote High has a proud musical culture actively promoting jazz (amongst other genres) and has nurtured some stellar musicians along the way.

As visitors we are not only promoting jazz ensemble music and our passion for it, but also women’s participation in it. It’s still a reality that so many female musicians drop out of musical participation in jazz based groups after school or university, so we hope to be a very positive influence!

Melba will be featuring some special guests players including NHS teachers Radha Claridge (Alto) and Ros Jones (Trombone).

Also joining us are Jacque Wong (Alto) Eeshan Pang, (Trumpet) Katy Addis (Trumpet) and Kathleen Halloran (Guitar)

The band will be playing a set then joining forces with the student stage band!

We are looking forward to an exciting night of all ages Jazz!
